I was born and raised in Colombia and  went to medical school at the Centro de Estudios de la Salud University in the city of Medellin. I moved to the U.S. to pursue a career in psychiatry and graduated from the Icahn School of Medicine Mount Sinai Morningside and West Psychiatry Program, where I continued my subspecialty fellowship training in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry.

During my years of work and training, I have strived to provide structurally and culturally competent treatment, focusing on how different cultural backgrounds create unique manifestations of mental health disorders, and how these identities can impact various treatment modalities.
